On September 8, 2010, Townhall Foundation welcomed world-renown author, architect and sustainabilty expert Bill McDonough to Laguna Beach for our 2010 Fall Ideas Forum. More than 140 attended the event, hosted by the Laguna Art Museum.
Laguna Beach and the broader south Orange County region are comprised of diverse groups of intelligent people. While this region is blessed with access to venues for learning, there is still a great need to expose local residents to ideas that shape our culture and the future of the world in which we live. Founded seven years ago by Don Schoendorfer, the goal is to tranform lives by sharing the gift of mobility with the physically disabled poor in developing countries. Free Wheel Chair Mission has grown from a start-up to a full-fledged organization with a budget of over eight million dollars per year. Townhall Foundation is ommitted to the cause of Free Wheel Chair Mission and what it can do to enoble the lives of people in some of the worst of conditions.
The Center has two primary missions: One, to help awaken citizens from their moral and intellectual slumbers and to help them understand why philosophy is everybody's business: the possibility of finding sound and practical answers to questions about the good life and good society. Two, to promulgate the insights and ideals embedded in Dr. Mortimer Adler's lifelong intellectual work in the fields of Philosophy, Liberal Education, Ethics and Politics.
'Human Rights USA' is dedicated to many of the normal human rights causes. What sets them apart is their focus on individuals who need help navigating the U.S. court system and using the court system to protect these peopole who are some of the most disenfranchised in the world.

Public Television is one of the best alternatives for educating adults and children. KOCE is also a media hub for Orange County. KOCE-TV is a PBS station, owned by the community-based KOCE-TV Foundation. KOCE-TV is located in Huntington Beach, reaching 5 million households or 14 million people in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. KOCE-TV is now in the top ten most watched out of 347 PBS stations in America, with audiences exceeding those of the big PBS stations in Washington D.C., Boston, and Dallas.
